I’m a little amazed. Well, a little more than a little. A week last Sunday (I’ve been pretty busy, time’s flown!) I made my latest swap. My screwdriver is now owned by a nice guy called Ant. And Ant’s slightly used, but fully working Sony Clie Palm OS5 PEG-TH55 is now mine! Not a bad swap for a screwdriver worth a pound. What’s better than that, Ant actually needed a screwdriver, and didn’t need his Palm, he’d given up on technology and gone back to paper and pen!

I also had offers of a car and a TV, but this was worth more than either! Ben (who swapped the paperclip for the screwdriver) now wishes he’d swapped his screwdriver with Ant rather than me! All Ant’s asking for is a fortnight in my villa in Barbados when I get to that! Hehe.

So, if you’re interested in a Sony Clie (I quite want to keep it myself, but I feel like that would be admitting defeat!) with Palm OS5, a computer connection cradle, software, a built in camera, bluetooth, wifi, organiser, mp3 player, microphone, and high resolution display, then do get in touch! I’ll see if I can get a photo up shortly.

…or just standing still and shouting, like I seem to do a lot at the moment. I went to college on Monday, then forgot to tell everyone until now that I’ve actually had an offer of another swap. It’s a bit vague though. I don’t know what I’m being offered, but I’ve been told it will be worth more than the screwdriver.

Mysterious.

I’ll feed you more information when I return from my rondevouz with my secretive swapper at college on Tuesday.

In the meantime…as always…drop me a line with something on the end if you want me to send a different thing back up on it!

Swapper

The ScrewdriverHere’s the aforementioned screwdriver, sitting on a tablecloth that Hannah (my fiance) and I got for Christmas from Hannah’s parents (my future in-laws). If you want to swap me something for it, I’m afraid you can only have the screwdriver and bits though, not the tablecloth!

So, today I made my first swap! I got a T-Bar screwdriver with interchangable heads, thanks to my good friend Ginger Ben. I’ll try and get a photo up shortly, should any of you be interested, but in the mean time please spread the word and leave a comment if you’re interested.

As an afterthought I’ve decided to keep a log of who I swapped with and where they’re from, just out of interest really. Maybe I’ll be able to do something clever with Google Maps or the like.

That’s all for now folks! Keep swapping…

This is a specimen. Actual product may vary in size, but not purpose.I found a paperclip yesterday on my office floor. I’d heard of people who tried swapping things like a paperclip and ended up with cars or houses through a series of swaps, so I thought, why not? Let’s set up a blog and tell the world where it’s at at the same time. Today I told my boss, my soon to be mother-in-law and my fiance about the idea, but as yet I’ve had no decent offers. If you hapen to stumble across this and want a paperclip, then drop me a comment and we’ll see where things go.
